LIVEBHARATH: AirAsia India on Wednesday announced introduction of an eighth aircraft and plans to take the fleet strength to 20 by the end of 2018.
AirAsia India CEO Amar Abrol said the media here that the airline will function daily flights joining Hyderabad and Kochi from Oct8th. It is offering limited advertising seats for all inclusive charges from Rs. 2,999 on this route.
Amar said the airline confidences to complete the 2nd round of backing by the month-end. Yet, he weakened to give facts but extra that it would help the airline take its fleet strength to 20 airplane by the end of 2018. All the airplane will be A320s.
AirAsia India, a joint venture among Tata Sons Ltd and AirAsia, elevated $30 million in the first round of finance.
The low-cost carrier presently flies to 11 destinations with its centers in Bengaluru and New Delhi, covering Chandigarh, Guwahati, Jaipur, Imphal, Goa, Pune, Vizag, Hyderabad and Kochi.
Amar Abrol said the airline was to come for the announcement of the new flying policy to finalise its expansion plans and look at different destinations.
He also said the airline sector in India was growing at a rate faster than in China and offered ample opportunities.
Amar said there were 330 pairs in India where A320s can fly and all these places have runways where this airplane can land or take-off.
AirAsia now connects 22 pairs. “With 20 airplane, we finally want to do 30 to 40 pairs,” he added.
